CENTERVILLE, OH
The city of Centerville, OH, covers a land area of 10.8 square miles across Montgomery and Greene counties as part of the Dayton metropolitan area. Centerville sits along Interstate 675 south of downtown Dayton, home to a population of nearly 24,000 residents.
The community was founded in the 19th century by Benjamin Robbins and named for its central location between two rivers. Limestone was readily available in Centerville’s early years and used to build at least 100 structures. Many of them stand to this day as the city boasts the largest collection of early stone houses in all of Ohio. The Heart of Centerville is the historic downtown section of the community that’s well known for its boutiques, restaurants and businesses. The Town Hall Theatre is located here, a famous landmark that housed government offices before becoming a performing arts center.
